You haven't made your way here yet, but I can't wait for the day you do! Ever since I was a young girl, all I've ever wanted was to be a mother. I remember the first day of fifth grade. My teacher sent around a "getting to know you" assignment where she asked certain generic questions and we had to fill it out and tell the class our answers. One of them was "What do you want to be when you grow up?". Everyone in my class had answers you'd expect: "professional soccer player", "astronaut", "teacher", etc. Mine was "homemaker". I could see myself in a beautiful home, dinner in the oven and kissing my husband as he came home from work. But most of all, I could see you. I could see you playing on the floor with your toys, your dad picking you up and giving you a sweet kiss on the cheek as you smiled at him. This dream of mine is something I want more than anything in the world; a family.
As I write this post, I can't help but think about your chubby little thighs, your sweet toes, your itty bitty fingers wrapped around mine. I see your sweet smile (definitely a trait of your daddy's), my green eyes, and head full of dark curly hair (a trait you're bound to have).
All I can say is, I know these dreams of mine aren't unrealistic. The reason you haven't made yourself known yet is something I still don't fully understand. But what I do understand is that you will-whether it's in this lifetime or the next. Because you've made your dad and I wait so long, I can guarantee no one will love you quite as much as us. And as enticing as these dreams of mine may sound, if you feel the need to take a little longer before heading down, that's okay.
I know you'll be worth the wait.
